I've been obsessed with quarterly journals for several years now. My heavy favorites take up more space in my studio than I would like to admit. I really should avoid taking on any more, but it is an obsession after all, and retaining any amount of self-control would negate the pleasure I experience when indulging in my said proclivity, so here I am with a new gem.
Where issues one through five focused on themes such as Material Memories, Magic, Shame, Power, and Slowness, issue six is on Failure. An equally interesting and challenging subject in general, but I am eager to explore it within a sartorial context. It is also the first issue to debut their new branding efforts. Needless to say, I'm a fan.
I do most of my journal hunting at McNally Jackson in Soho. If you are in the New York area, check them out - by far the best selection of lifestyle magazines and journals in the city, and while there, grab a cup of their Black/Myrtle Tea - It will not disappoint.
